How it works
1. What we build. A website for your business, based on the preview you saw, with the pages and features ticked above. It works on phones and computers and is set up for Google, Bing and Apple Maps. You also get a simple editor to change your hours, text and photos yourself.
2. Payment. Every order, including quoted jobs, is paid in full when you sign: the website, the features or suite you chose, and any one-time items. You pay by card through our payment processor (today Stripe), online or on your phone at the visit. All prices are in US dollars. Any US sales tax that applies is shown on your receipt; a business outside the US pays its own VAT or GST where its law allows (reverse charge). Please talk to us before you dispute a charge with your bank.
3. Timeline. A standard site goes live within 24 hours after we have your payment and access to your web address. Forms, booking, ordering and quoted work take a few extra days; we agree the date with you. If access or content arrives late, the date moves with it. "Launch" means your site is live at your own web address.
4. Changing your mind. You may cancel before launch for a full refund, even after seeing the preview; we refund the same card within 10 business days. If you simply change your mind after launch, the price is not refunded; the 30 days of changes are there to make it right. If we cannot deliver what we agreed, you get a full refund. Quoted jobs: cancel within 3 business days of signing for a full refund; after that, we refund the price minus work already done.
5. If we are waiting on you. Sometimes we need something from you, such as access, photos or an OK. If we ask twice and hear nothing for 30 days, we may put your site on a free temporary web address, so the work is not lost. That is not launch, and you can still ask for a full refund. Once you give us access, we move the site to your address at no charge, and your 30 days of changes start then.
6. 30 days of changes. For 30 days after launch, we make unlimited changes within what we agreed: text, pictures, colors, layout, even a complete rebuild in a new design. We work through them one batch at a time, usually within 2 business days. A second website, new pages or new features are quoted first, and nothing starts until you say OK.
7. After the 30 days. A change is $100 for up to 30 minutes of work, for example new hours, a new photo or a price update. With Unlimited Updates, small changes are included and done within 24 hours on business days; redesigns and new features are quoted. Bigger requests are quoted first, and we charge nothing without your OK by text or email. Your site stays online either way.
8. Add-ons. Each add-on you choose starts 30 days after launch and renews each month or year until you cancel. A feature with a monthly or yearly fee starts on the date your order says and then follows this term, like an add-on. Our payment processor keeps your card on file for the add-ons you choose. By ticking one, you let us charge that card at the price shown, each month or year; we send a receipt each time. What each add-on includes is on our price sheet and plan sheet. We remind you 15 to 30 days before each yearly renewal. We tell you at least 30 days before any price change, so you can cancel first. Cancel any time on the billing page linked in every receipt, or by call, text or email; we confirm in writing, and the add-on stops at the end of the period already paid. If a payment fails and is not fixed within 14 days, we may stop the add-on. Nobody can promise a Google ranking, and we do not.
9. Media package (if ticked). Paid when you book. We agree the shoot date with you and send the photos and video within 7 days after the shoot. They are yours to use anywhere. You make sure the people in them agree to be photographed. If you cancel before the shoot, you get a full refund.
10. Hosting. We host your site with no monthly charge on a well-known hosting service (today Cloudflare) and keep backups. We fix problems quickly, but no host is up all the time, so we promise no set uptime. You pay only for your own web address (about $10-20 a year). If we stop hosting your site, we give you at least 60 days' notice and free help to move it. If our host stops service without warning, we move your site as fast as we reasonably can, at no charge. We may take a site down at once for illegal content, spam, scams, attacks, a risk to other sites, or a court or legal order. We tell you why, and we put it back once the problem is fixed.
11. You own it. Your web address stays in your name. Once you have paid in full, we transfer to you all our rights in the website made for you: its text, design, images we made, and files. We hand over the files at no charge whenever you ask. Some parts are never ours to give: fonts, stock photos, open-source code and tools from other companies; you may use them on your site under their own licenses. We keep our general building blocks: code, templates, layouts and know-how. You get a free, permanent right to use them as part of your site, even if you move it. Your logo, photos and words always stay yours; you let us use them to build, run and (if you ticked yes) show your site.
12. Your part. Give us access to your web address (helper access is best, so we never need your password). Send only content and photos you have the right to use. Check the site (prices, hours, claims) before launch; you are responsible for what it says, and for any changes you make yourself. If someone claims that content you gave us breaks their rights, you handle the claim and cover our reasonable costs; we do the same for anything we created or chose. If we get a proper copyright complaint about your site, we may remove that content and tell you; you can send a counter-notice, and we follow the law's process for putting it back. We stop hosting for anyone who infringes again and again. Your business is responsible for the legal notices it needs on its site (for example a privacy or cookie notice, an imprint or a license number); we add them on request. Keep your web address renewed.
13. Other services. Booking, ordering, payment and email services (Square, Toast, Clover, Google, Microsoft and others) are your accounts, under their own terms and fees. We connect to them; we do not control them, and we are not responsible for their outages or changes. Email setup and move are our labor only, to Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 in your name; you pay them directly.
14. Your information and your visitors' data. We keep your logins and private business information confidential. Messages from your site's forms belong to you: we pass them to you, keep them secure, and use them for nothing else. For your visitors' personal data, you decide how it is used, and we follow your instructions. Do not ask for card numbers, government ID numbers (such as Social Security numbers) or health details in a form. If we learn of a security problem that affects your site or its data, we tell you promptly. If your site handles personal data of people in the EU, UK or Switzerland, our Data Processing Terms also apply. They include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and we give you a copy.
15. Accessibility. We build following common accessibility practice (clear contrast, text for images, keyboard use, readable sizes). No one can promise that a site meets every accessibility law, and we do not. If your business must meet a set standard (such as WCAG 2.1 AA, with an accessibility statement), tell us and we quote it. Your business stays responsible for its own legal accessibility duties. If you or a visitor reports a problem with something we built, we fix it at no charge.
16. Fair limits. We work carefully and fix any problem we cause, quickly and at no charge. Apart from the promises in this agreement, we give no other promises or warranties; for example, we do not promise sales, calls, rankings or uptime. Keep your own copy of anything important; we are not responsible for lost data we did not cause. Our total responsibility is limited to the larger of your website price and what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Neither of us is responsible for lost profits or indirect losses. These limits do not apply to fraud, harm done on purpose or through gross negligence, or injury to people. They also do not apply where the law does not let us limit. Any claim must be raised within one year after the problem happens.
17. If we disagree. Tell us first; we both try in good faith to fix it within 30 days. If we cannot, either of us may file in small claims court. Otherwise, any case is heard in the state or federal courts serving Fulton County or Lucas County, Ohio, USA, and we both agree to those courts. Ohio law applies, except where our Data Processing Terms say otherwise. Nothing in this agreement takes away rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.
18. General terms.
- Business clients only: the person signing confirms they may sign for the business, and that it is buying for business purposes.
- You confirm you are not located in, or owned by anyone in, Russia or a country or region under a US embargo, and you are not on a US sanctions list.
- We both agree to sign and give notices electronically. Email or text to the contacts in section A (ours: [email protected] or (419) 370-2996) counts as written notice. Copies and e-signatures count as originals.
- We may use our own team, contractors and tools to do the work; we stay responsible for it.
- Either of us may end this agreement if the other seriously breaks it and does not fix it within 14 days after a written notice. Ending never removes a refund you are owed.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by things outside our control (storms, power or internet outages, host or provider failures, illness, government action).
- We are an independent company, not your employee or partner. Either of us may pass this agreement to whoever buys our business; otherwise, a transfer needs the other's written OK.
- This agreement is in English; if it is translated, the English version controls. Business days and times are US Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, except US holidays.
- Ownership, refunds owed, and terms 11, 12, 16 and 17 stay in force after this agreement ends.
- This agreement and any attached written quote are our whole agreement; if the quote and this agreement differ, the quote wins for that job. Changes must be in writing (text or email is fine). If one part is not valid, the rest still applies.
